<백투더퓨쳐>에서 마티가 연주한 Johnly B. Goode가 나오는데, 주인공 마티가 사는 시대에서는 이미 오래된 유명한 명곡이지만 시간여행으로 간 과거에서는 아직 등장하지 않은 새로운 음악이라는 설정이다. 관객이 아는 것과 영화 상 인물의 시간차를 이용하여 기존 인식을 비트는, 시간여행 영화의 묘미 중 하나이다. 원곡은 1960년대 척 베리의 곡.
